Active & Valid

What Was Udyog Aadhar (Udyog Aadhaar)?

Udyog Aadhar (also known as UAM — Udyog Aadhar Memorandum) was a simplified online registration system launched by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India in 2015. It allowed Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to self-register and receive a 12-digit number as proof of MSME status.

The certificate issued to registered businesses served as official proof that helped them avail government loans, subsidies, tenders and other benefits. However, the system had limitations — it relied on self-declaration without verification, making it prone to fraud.

Effective 1st July 2020, the Government of India permanently discontinued it and replaced it with the more robust Udyam system, which uses Aadhaar-linked PAN verification and is integrated with GST and Income Tax databases.

If you need to download your old UAM certificate for reference, you may still be able to access it from the government portal — however, it is no longer valid for any government benefit or scheme.

Udyog Aadhar is Expired

All UAM registrations are officially invalid since March 31, 2021. No new registrations are accepted under the old system. Any website claiming to offer "new Udyog Aadhar registration" is misleading.

Benefits Require Udyam Migration

Banks, government departments and financial institutions now only accept Udyam certificates. Without migrating, you cannot apply for MSME loans, subsidies or preferential tenders.

Migration is Quick & Simple

Migrating to the new system is straightforward. You need your old UAM number, Aadhaar and PAN details. Our experts can complete the entire process for you with minimal effort on your part.

Udyam Offers More Benefits

Udyam comes with enhanced benefits over the old system — including integration with the TReDS platform, better access to credit, and auto-verification with government databases.
